CULTURAL SYSTEM

Culture (cultural system) is an integral part of every human society. Moreover, it is the only means of defense and reaction of a people to the attempt of the decision-making centers, outside the borders of a country, to direct it to their own channels of communication and therefore to control it. That is why the economically advanced countries have added the cultural dimension to their economic and social development policies.

Greece has almost ignored the cultural dimension in its development planning. This has prevented the cultivation of new artistic and cultural forms based on traditional models and transformed based on contemporary social reality.

The cultural policy of the Political Spring aims to:

The protection of our cultural heritage and our cultural identity, which will come through a global and creative approach. In this light, cultural heritage is part of the general context of social life and is organically linked to the present, contributing to the improvement of the quality of life and at the same time preventing the transformation of the people into mere recipients of foreign cultural forms.
The cultural awakening of the people, which will be achieved by creating suitable conditions for their active participation in the cultural policy that concerns them, and for the release of all their creative capacities so that, starting from the preservation of their intellectual heritage, they can cultivate new, modern cultural forms.
The purpose of the Political Spring is to redefine the contemporary cultural role of Greece (since we neither become "Europeans", nor do we live as Greeks, allowing third parties to despise and question our historical face) and the characterization of our country as:

a. A country of special natural beauty
b. Cradle of European civilization (Acropolis, Delphi, Olympia, etc.)
c. Priceless sacred and religious space (Mount Athos, Byzantine Monuments, Monuments of other cultures, such as Roman, Muslim, Jewish, Armenian Culture, etc.)

We intend to continuously raise awareness among the International Public Opinion in order to achieve respect for the specific particularities of our country.

For all this, Political Spring will seek the issuance of similar resolutions by the UN and the European Parliament, with the ultimate goal of considering any threat against Greece as a threat to Europe itself.

PROTECTING OUR CULTURAL HERITAGE

Keep "the Greek language on the sands of Homer" (Elytis).

The Political Spring will seek:

Proper organization of the Archaeological Service
i. redefinition of the areas of responsibility of the Archaeological Services,
ii. Increase in the positions of archaeologists to cover the enormous needs of the sector,
III. upgrading of the branches of conservation of Antiquities and
iv. Development of the branch of underwater archaeology and protection of underwater antiquities.

Increase of funds for culture and provision for the preparation of studies and programmes and their financing by the European Union.

Mapping of the spaces offered for the exercise of cultural policy throughout Greece.
Organization of Double Exhibitions abroad with content on classical culture and modern art.
Conversion of the National Garden into an open-air museum with sculptures by Greek artists.
Announcements of artistic competitions on the occasion of major events and related topics, e.g. Olympic Games.
Modernized infrastructure of the Museums.
Utilization and promotion of the Monuments of other cultures and,
Funding of research programs.

CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT

One of the main objectives of the Political Spring is:

A. The cultivation and promotion of Greek Literature in Greece and abroad, which will be achieved by:

The establishment of a cultural service that will assist this project.

The correct book policy, by taking measures for the publication of the National Modern Greek Bibliography and the annual bibliographic bulletin by the National Book Center, after having previously been staffed with the appropriate scientific personnel.

Support for the Library sector and strengthening of the National Library, which should be housed in a modern building. (In the event that the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce acquires the new building, the current neoclassical building on Panepistimiou Street will be able to be used exclusively for manuscript collections and as a Press Museum.) Creation of School Libraries, in all schools, given that they do not function properly today and in those that exist.

Strengthening and reorganizing the Conference Directorate and increasing the relevant funds, in order to establish Greece worldwide as a Conference Country. Measures for the construction of a state-of-the-art Conference Centre.

Reorganization of the Directorate of Letters.

B. The education of the Greeks, the cultivation of the Fine Arts, the promotion of the artistic creations of Greek artists.

The cultural policy of the Political Spring in relation to the above starts from elementary education in the context of all-day schooling. We aim at the appropriate infrastructure, equipment and staffing of schools of all levels of education.

We recommend:

A. The promotion of the Theatre, Film, Dance and Music faculties to University faculties, by analogy with the School of Fine Arts of the Polytechnic.

B. The establishment of Museums and Centers of Contemporary Art.

C. The upgrading of the institution of educational followers, which to this day remains degraded. Educational followers should be scientifically, professionally and socially acclaimed individuals. Their selection must be made with great care by a special committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. and the Ministry of Finance. PAUL.

D. The change of the current structure of the Hellenic Cultural Foundation, with a small Board of Directors made up of personalities of common acceptance and relevant to the work carried out at the Foundation. The abolition of the large body of partners that is a brake on its development. The timely planning of the Foundation, its staffing by personalities from the Greek intellectual space and the Expatriates from the countries in which each branch is based. These personalities will also constitute a kind of link between the Hellenic Cultural Foundation and the local intellectual community. The creation, in each annex, of a Library, a Discotheque and a Film Archive that will cover the interests of the public.

E. The granting of scholarships and the establishment of exchanges for Studies in Greece on Greek Culture - Ancient, Byzantine, Modern.

F. The signing of interstate agreements for the teaching of the Greek language, the circulation of newspapers, the operation of radio and television stations or programs in Greek.

G. The establishment of Greece as a Centre for Classical Studies in Europe, in collaboration with foreign Universities and Institutions.

H. The development and strengthening of the Chairs of Greek Culture and Letters in as many Educational Institutions abroad as possible.

I. The installation of satellite television with the aim of strengthening the National Identity of the Greeks of the Diaspora, as well as influencing foreign citizens and international public opinion.

I. The care for the publication of the texts of the Ancient Greeks and the Byzantine writers.
